Adelaide Lounge

The new Adelaide Lounge is located in the international departures zone of Adelaide Airport and is the first dedicated international common-user lounge in Australia. It opened in mid-February and has just come out of its soft opening phase. It isn’t tied to any airline or class and is open to all travellers, whether you are flying economy, business or first. You can access the lounge by showing your boarding pass or contactless self-check-in barcode. The Adelaide Lounge is a great place to relax before your flight.

Designed by Brisbane’s WMK Architecture, the lounge has a softer look than previous Virgin Australia lounges. There is still a lot of white, but contrasting shades, wood, greenery and splashes of bold colour make the space feel inviting. The lounge has a variety of seating arrangements, including sofas and low stools, as well as large windows with decent views out to the terminal.

When I visited the Adelaide Lounge, it was quiet on a Friday afternoon. The staff circulated and cleared tables as needed. The food selection was good. It includes a range of cold cuts and cheeses, a soup station with roasted tomato, basil and ricotta, a noodle and rice bar, a salad bar with a variety of dressings and a few hot dishes, such as chicken curry and some noodles with vegetables.

There are also a variety of drinks, including local wines and coffee. It was a pleasant place to wait for my flight, and the staff were helpful. It is worth noting that the Adelaide Lounge eschews the old self-serve model and offers food on request. It is ostensibly for COVID-related health reasons, but it makes sense from an operational perspective, as the service was quick and efficient.

The https://www.realityfurniture.com.au armchairs Adelaide Lounge is open daily and accepts walk-ins. You can purchase a lounge membership through Plaza Premium Group, which gives you access to all the Australian Plaza Premium Lounges. They have several different passes available, such as the ‘Smart Traveller’ pass, which provides access to lounges across Oceania, or the ‘Kangaroo’ pass, which includes Australia, Asia and the US.
